Cold Jet– the worldwide leader in dry ice technology – will demonstrate its Combi 120H at NPE2018.
The COMBI 120H is an automated system that combines dry ice pellet production with dry ice blasting. It is equipped with a pelletizer unit that guarantees continuous cleaning, with producing dry ice as it is needed.
This automated solution allows for dry ice blasting equipment to be integrated within an existing production line for surface preparation prior to paint or deburring and deflashing parts.
“The Combi 120H has been developed to meet the needs of plastics companies that require a continuous cleaning process,” said Steve Wilson, Global Business Unit Manager – Plastics, Rubber & Composites. “It eliminates consequential costs of traditional aqueous cleaning systems that need both part drying and water treatment/containment.”
The system produces dry ice pellets on demand, directly into the pellet hopper of the dry ice blasting unit. From there, the dry ice is transported through a distribution system, typically a hose, to one or more blasting nozzles.
“There are several advantages of automatic dry ice production over ordering and storage of dry ice, and manually loading the blasting machine,” said Wilson. “With automatic dry ice production, the dry ice pellets are always of optimum quality because the CO2 is kept liquid until just prior to use.”
Cold Jet will be showcasing the Combi 120H on a surface preparation of a plastic part prior to painting at NPE2018 in booth W483.
