Indorama Ventures Showcases Three Sustainable Fashion Collections at RECO Collective 2026 Final Show
Thai designers transform recycled polyester yarns into original fashion collections through collaboration spanning sustainable materials, fabric innovation, digital printing and retail partnerships.
BANGKOK, October 22, 2026 – Indorama Ventures has unveiled three original fashion collections at the RECO Collective 2026 Final Show, held at NEXTOPIA, Siam Paragon, Bangkok. Developed using fabrics made from the company’s deja™ recycled polyester yarns, the collections highlight how material innovation, creative design and industry collaboration can accelerate the adoption of sustainable fashion while creating new commercial opportunities for emerging Thai designers.
Organised under the theme “THE NEXT ORIGINAL,” the 12th edition of RECO Collective explored the potential of transforming previously used materials into distinctive fashion products. The event featured collections from three Thai fashion labels – CHANA, KH EDITIONS and APPEAL Summerwear – each presenting a different interpretation of recycled polyester through individual design philosophies, aesthetics and functional applications.
The initiative reflects a growing movement within the global fashion industry towards circular production models, where waste materials are recovered, processed and reintroduced into manufacturing rather than discarded. By demonstrating the creative and commercial potential of recycled textiles, RECO Collective aims to encourage designers, manufacturers and consumers to reconsider the lifecycle of fashion materials.
Indorama Ventures’ deja™ recycled polyester yarns, manufactured using post-consumer PET bottles, formed the material foundation of the three collections. Through advanced recycling and textile manufacturing processes, discarded plastic bottles can be converted into polyester fibres and yarns suitable for fabric production, providing an alternative raw material for the fashion and textile industries.
The collections demonstrate that recycled materials can offer more than an environmentally conscious alternative. They can also support distinctive design concepts, contemporary aesthetics and commercially relevant fashion products.

Building a Collaborative Fashion Value Chain
A central objective of RECO Collective 2026 was to establish stronger connections between different stages of the fashion value chain, from raw material development and fabric manufacturing to design, printing, branding and retail distribution.
Indorama Ventures participated as the official material partner, contributing its deja™ recycled polyester yarns and expertise in recycling technologies. Bulliontex supported the initiative by converting the yarns into fabrics and providing technical guidance to participating designers. This enabled the designers to better understand the characteristics of recycled polyester fabrics and explore their suitability for different garment applications.
Meanwhile, Epson contributed its digital textile printing capabilities, allowing the participating labels to develop distinctive colours, graphics and patterns that reflected their respective creative identities.
The partnership extended beyond material development and garment production through the involvement of NEXTOPIA and ECOTOPIA as retail partners. Their participation created opportunities to introduce the collections to consumers, increase brand visibility and connect sustainable fashion concepts with potential commercial markets.
This integrated approach highlights the importance of collaboration in developing a more circular textile ecosystem. By connecting material suppliers, fabric manufacturers, technology providers, designers and retailers, RECO Collective seeks to bridge the gap between sustainability-focused concepts and market-ready products.
RECO Incubation Lab: Developing the Next Generation of Sustainable Designers
Beyond showcasing finished collections, RECO Collective 2026 placed considerable emphasis on designer development through its RECO Incubation Lab. The programme connects emerging fashion entrepreneurs with experienced industry mentors, offering practical guidance and knowledge-sharing opportunities throughout the product development process.
Participating designers receive support in translating their creative concepts into commercially viable products while considering material selection, garment functionality, production requirements and market positioning. The programme also encourages designers to incorporate sustainability into their broader business strategies, including product development, brand communication and consumer engagement.
By combining technical expertise with business-oriented mentorship, the RECO Incubation Lab aims to equip emerging designers with the capabilities needed to establish fashion brands that are both creatively distinctive and environmentally responsible.
The initiative also recognises that sustainable fashion requires more than the use of recycled materials. Responsible sourcing, efficient production, thoughtful design and transparent communication are equally important in building consumer confidence and encouraging long-term changes in purchasing behaviour.
Three Thai Fashion Labels Reinterpret Recycled Polyester
The RECO Collective 2026 Final Show featured three collections developed around different creative inspirations. Although all three brands used fabrics made from deja™ recycled polyester yarns, their designs demonstrated the versatility of the material across different fashion categories.
1. CHANA – THE MIRAGED SYMMETRY
Founded by Chanajit Hundat, CHANA presented THE MIRAGED SYMMETRY, a collection inspired by the contrasting landscapes and architectural influences of Saudi Arabia.
The collection explores the relationship between the natural movement of desert sand dunes and the geometric precision of contemporary architecture. One of its key inspirations is the Maraya Concert Hall, known for its mirrored exterior and striking architectural design.
Through this combination of organic forms and structured visual elements, CHANA developed a contemporary fashion identity that reflects contrasts between nature, architecture and modern design. The use of recycled polyester fabrics further demonstrates how sustainable materials can support sophisticated design concepts without compromising creative expression.
2. KH EDITIONS – HIGHWAY LEGACY
KH EDITIONS, led by Naphat Tansuwan and Panisara Maneerat, introduced HIGHWAY LEGACY, a collection influenced by Thai street culture and contemporary streetwear.
Built around the brand’s philosophy of “Kick it to the Highway,” the collection draws inspiration from the energy of the open road, urban environments and everyday street culture. Its unconventional approach combines playful design elements with a contemporary interpretation of Thai-inspired fashion.
The collection uses recycled polyester fabrics to create distinctive garments that bring together cultural influences, individuality and modern streetwear aesthetics. It also illustrates the potential of recycled textiles in fashion segments that place strong emphasis on visual identity and personal expression.
3. APPEAL Summerwear – BEYOND THE BLUE
APPEAL Summerwear, represented by Thanawan and Kansiri Chanttasahawat, presented BEYOND THE BLUE, a collection inspired by the movement of ocean waves and the relaxed atmosphere of summer living.
The collection moves beyond traditional beachwear by incorporating wave-inspired textures, vibrant colours and comfortable silhouettes into versatile garments designed for different settings. Its emphasis on movement and adaptability allows the pieces to transition from holiday environments to everyday casual wear.
By combining functional design with recycled polyester fabrics, APPEAL Summerwear demonstrates how sustainability can be incorporated into lifestyle fashion while maintaining the comfort, appearance and versatility expected by consumers.
Indorama Ventures Highlights Creativity as a Driver of Circular Fashion
Commenting on the initiative, Mrs. Aradhana Lohia Sharma, Vice President of Finance and Fibers at Indorama Ventures, said:
“A material’s past can inspire its next beginning. Through ‘The Next Original,’ our designers show how used materials can take on a new identity through creativity. RECO Collective brings together the knowledge, mentorship and industry connections to turn those ideas into products that reach consumers. We hope the experience stays with designers beyond this collection, giving them the confidence to build brands that embrace sustainability and inspire others. Together with our partners, we are driving sustainable growth and advancing circularity to create lasting value for people and the planet.”
Her comments underline the company’s approach to advancing circularity through partnerships that connect recycled material technologies with practical applications in the fashion industry.
For Indorama Ventures, initiatives such as RECO Collective also provide an opportunity to demonstrate how recycled polyester can be incorporated into consumer-facing products. By engaging directly with designers and other value-chain participants, the company can help strengthen awareness of recycled materials and encourage their adoption across different textile and apparel applications.
From RECO Young Designer Competition to RECO Collective
First launched in 2011 as the RECO Young Designer Competition, the initiative has evolved considerably over its 12 editions, engaging more than 1,000 designers and providing a platform for exploring the relationship between fashion, creativity and recycled materials.
Its transformation into RECO Collective represents a broader approach to sustainable fashion development. Rather than focusing exclusively on design competitions, the programme now brings together designers, material specialists, manufacturers, technology providers, industry mentors and retail partners.
This expanded structure is intended to address several challenges faced by emerging fashion businesses, including access to sustainable materials, technical knowledge, production expertise, mentorship and commercial distribution opportunities.
The programme also reflects the increasing importance of circularity across the global textile and apparel industries. As fashion businesses face growing expectations to reduce material waste and improve resource efficiency, recycled polyester and other alternative materials are becoming important components of sustainable product development strategies.
Through RECO Collective, Indorama Ventures aims to encourage wider adoption of recycled materials while supporting Thai designers and entrepreneurs in developing commercially relevant sustainable fashion businesses.
Advancing Circularity Through Fashion Innovation
The RECO Collective 2026 Final Show demonstrates how cooperation across the textile value chain can transform recycled materials into original fashion products with potential market applications.
By combining Indorama Ventures’ recycling expertise and deja™ yarn technology with Bulliontex’s fabric manufacturing capabilities, Epson’s digital printing solutions and the creative direction of participating designers, the initiative illustrates the importance of integrated collaboration in advancing sustainable fashion.
The participation of NEXTOPIA and ECOTOPIA further strengthens the connection between product development and consumer markets, creating opportunities for sustainable fashion collections to move beyond runway presentations and reach wider audiences.
With more than a decade of experience supporting emerging designers, RECO Collective continues to position creativity, technical innovation and industry partnerships as important drivers of circular fashion. Its latest edition reinforces the idea that recycled materials can serve as the foundation for distinctive design identities, new business opportunities and more resource-conscious approaches to fashion production.
